The world's largest agricultural commodity, it is considered the most cost-effective plant-based protein for the production of meat, eggs, milk and dairy products. Its use has been diversifying, with its oil being widely used as a raw material in the production of biodiesel and diesel oil, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Its use as a raw material has also been growing in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, veterinary, varnish, paint and plastic, adhesive and fiber industries, among others.
Soybeans play a prominent role in our operations. We cultivate over 310,000 hectares, achieving an average yield of 68 bags per hectare and an annual production of approximately 1.3 million tons.
In addition, we dedicate about 22% of our cultivated area—approximately 70,000 hectares—to planting conventional soybeans, thereby expanding the options we offer to the market.
We operate 24 grain processing and storage units (UBAGs), strategically distributed across all regions of Mato Grosso. This infrastructure enables us to store our entire soybean and corn production and—through certification and accreditation obtained in 1999—to offer storage services to third parties and manage contracts with the National Supply Company (Conab).
Our storage capacity is 1.56 million tons of grain per year. In the first half of the year, the units operate predominantly with soybeans; in the second half, with corn.
CARGILL 3S – Sustainable Supply Chain Solutions
Cargill's SSS (or 3S) program is an initiative that aims to provide solutions for the three main aspects related to soybean production: deforestation, workers' rights and greenhouse gas emissions. It is, in reality, a pragmatic and simple response to today's real demands regarding the sustainability of its products.
Certification of Storage Units in Natural Environments
It aims to strengthen the relationship between the storage sector and the production sector and society, increasing the professionalism of the sector; reduce losses that occur during the storage process; make public, nationally and internationally, that the storage process in Brazil has a program that meets the established legal and market requirements.
Certificação Round Table on Responsible Soy
The partnership between Louis Dreyfus Company and Bom Futuro enables the traceability of soybean and corn production chains through the certification process under the RTRS Standard for Responsible Production (Round Table on Responsible Soy). This global initiative aims to promote responsible soybean and corn production by encouraging sustainable practices that address environmental, social and economic issues.
Certification of Storage Facilities
Pantanal Certificadora conducts audits and certifications that verify the conformity of products, processes, and systems with technical standards and requirements. Certification reinforces the quality, safety, and reliability of operations, meeting market demands and contributing to the continuous improvement of organizations.
